Lens block flash on DSC-w1,
These lens work and include the adapter necessary for use with a dsc-w1. However, the size of the lens blocks the flash and casts a shadow on indoor shots.

|Lens for DSC-W1,
These Lens work great with the DSC-W1. You need to shut off the flash. It cannot be use with the flash. I use especially the wide angle lens for my Hawaii trip and it works so well. I’m able to capture a wider range that I never thought my camera can do.

I got this lens in late ’08 for my Sony CyberShot DSC-W1 camera. It came with the adapter ring in the package. It also comes with a little black carry bag & two lens caps. The lens works great for outdoor shots, I think it helps to show more detail in the photos. Also nice on close-ups. Although, when the zoom in totally in, as in not zooming out, the corners are dark from the round lens. So I find that I’ve got to zoom out just a little so that the edges aren’t dark. I’ve used it indoors and haven’t had any issues with the flash creating a shadow, although I’ve mostly used it for daytime outdoor shots. Overall a great deal for how affordable it is, and it’s compact enough to fit in my camera bag with the camera.
