Great if at a lower price,
Amazon ran a very short special on this item, and I got it for way below the listed price.
At what I paid for it, I’m extremely happy with the item. Video quality is phenomenal, it picks up audio just right, it looks rugged and easy to use. I would, however, not pay full price fort his device.
Any cons that I can find, is that there isn’t any sort of frame stabilizing technology, so you either learn to hold it steady, use a tripod, or just put up with overly shaky video.

|Great recorder except for the sound,
I bought this so that I would have a video recorder that I could fit in my shirt pocket. I also use it to send short family videos to family members. It takes great videos but the sound could be better. I will take it on any trip I go on. I have a digital camera that also takes video but it is a lot bigger than the Vado so it is a hassle to take with me. I am very happy with my purchase.
It is very easy to operate and it is very easy to load videos to a computer.

|Great Camera!,
Camera was new. All the stuff came with it. I have been using it for about two weeks and these are my observations. Wide angle lens which I like, most other video cameras don’t have this. Slightly warmer picture which I also like. Smaller than most another plus. Simple controls and maybe a bit too simple. No image stabilization. This is not so bad because I have read that that feature is not all that good yet. I have a Kodak zi8 as well and the key is to hold it steady-Duh! Records in AVI which some have complained about. I don’t find that a problem. There are converters out there to change the format. The software for the Mac is not so good. It’s very very simple so I use “imovie”. Overall I like this camera and would recommend it. I like it better than the Vado HD 3rd generation whose controls are way too sensitive. I understand its about the same as the Vado HD 2nd generation. The plus for this one over the 2nd and 3rd gen is the finish. This one has a rubbery matt finish and the other Vado’s are shiny and prone to finger prints. 8 gigs is plenty of storage. The battery you can swap out with a fresh one easy. You can buy a charger for faster charging as the usb charger takes hours. I have been in contact with Vado cust service for a couple minor issues and they got back to me fast. Buy one-the price is right.
